Michelle is a Professional Chef that discovered after many experimental years how to stay fit by choosing the right foods to put into your body. She believes in reaching for food as your fuel and that what we eat definitely has an impact on our body, mind and spirit. 
 
Bommarito's goal is to make a difference in the fight against obesity and various cancers, more importantly just to remind people to take better care of "you". 
 
Her culinary accomplishments include working for Martha Stewart, The Waldorf Astoria Hotel in Manhattan and as a Personal Chef for Athlete Michael Jordan.

Bommarito will share 14 plus years experience of working with Rolled Fondant and how to apply it seamlessly to give a porcelain-like finish to both round and square cake tiers.

Students will also learn how to create cascading and swagged drapery.

Other aspects of class include: coloring techniques for that perfect shade of fondant and painting techniques using dust colorings, extracts, sanding sugar and nonpareils to enhance the detail.

1:30pm to 2:30pm: Antique Book:

As seen on the Food Network "Sugar Rush" - Double Take Episode, learn how to create antique books with rolled fondant. Discover how to obtain rich colors that look like leather, sculpt your cake and apply fondant seamlessly, create pages in the book and add writing on your book cover.
Then detail your cake with various techniques such as imprinting, rolled fondant writing textured tiles and lustre dust-painting techniques.

3:00pm to 4:00pm: Bommarito unveils her bag of tricks

Bommarito will show you how to use various molds, cutters and appliqués and take it one step further to make the embellishments "your own".

Students will also learn trade secrets on how to create traditional romantic designs, royal icing piped elegant scroll, harlequin quilting patterns and royal icing pearl beading,

Other aspects of class include: coloring techniques for that perfect shade of fondant and painting techniques using dust colorings, extracts, sanding sugar and nonpareils.

4:30pm to 5:30 pm: Cupcake meets the Wedding Cake Designer

Bommarito will demonstrate how to apply Rolled Fondant seamlessly as a porcelain-like finish and a blank canvas for your designs and artwork.
Students will learn how to create and pipe an elegant royal icing scroll design.

For visual interest, Bommarito will demonstrate how to create sugar drapery swags and a variety of embellishments such as three-dimensional roses, leaves and fleur de lis.

Coloring and painting techniques using lustre dust and extract will also be provided.

Students will learn final assembly of the tiered cake and an intricate beaded border finishing.

Bommarito will share her 14 years experience of how to apply fondant seamlessly with a porcelain-like finish.

Students will learn how to make marzipan from scratch and how to color the marzipan "just so" for a more realistic appearance.

Bommarito will then share her secrets on how to create the following items:

Three-dimensional marzipan fruits and vegetables
including carrots, radishes, rhubbard, potatoes, cabbage, lettuce, tomatoes a basket and more

Students will also create a sugarpaste White picket fence that stands proud and tall to surround entire cake tier

Ground chocolate wafers will be used as the soil for a back-drop for marzipan fruit and vegetables.

Bommarito's name is synonymous with Wedding Cakes, yet in this class she decides to offer her designs on a smaller canvas...the cupcake. 
Students will learn helpful techniques and suggestions for making that perfect cupcake and how to make "Sweet Vanilla Swiss Meringue Butter Cream".  
Then the creative energy will flow in abundance, as Bommarito will share her techniques to create the following designs: 
Three-dimensional butter cream sunflowers and pansies
Three-dimensional bows and ribbon streamers
Texturized appearance atop the cupcake
Three-dimensional roses with royal icing vine 
Plus students will learn how to enhance the designs by using food coloring gel paste, sanding sugars and non-pareils.

Glamourous Boutique-Style Shopping Bag

Look like you just stepped out of a high-end boutique in Manhattan with your own stylized Shopping Bag.

Bommarito first will demonstrate how to sculpt cake "just so"…to give an appearance of a boutique-style shopping bag.

Students will then learn how to apply fondant seamlessly and how to detail the shopping bag with a choice of 3 designs:

1. Harlequin diamond quilted pattern with royal icing pearl beading…Inspired by Designer Coco Chanel

2. Chocolate Fondant Pin-striping created for Sex and the City Cake Challenge

3. Wild Safari Zebra striping

Students will also learn how to create three-dimensional tissue and handles for the shopping bags.

Bommarito will also share painting techniques for detailing the luggage to give that "vintage" feel.

Students must come with 4"/6"/8" round cakes/styrofoam covered prior to class

Bommarito will share her knowledge and techniques on how to sculpt and carve the top tier of the cake into a hour glass figure.

Bommarito will then share verbal information on how to apply rolled fondant seamlessly onto each cake tier.

Students will then learn how to roll, form and shape rolled fondant to create an elegant scroll design.

For visual interest, Bommarito will also demonstrate how to create horizontal sugar drapery swags.

Coloring and painting techniques using lustre dust will also be provided.

Students will see the fruits of their labor in the final assembly of the tiered cake and with an intricate border finishing.

Students will also learn how to create cascading and swagged drapery.

Other aspects of class include: coloring techniques for that perfect shade of fondant and painting techniques using dust colorings, extracts, sanding sugar and nonpareils to enhance the detail.

This is one of Bommarito's favorite classes to teach since the ideas shared can be tailored for ALL celebrations…

Bommarito will introduce the texturized Black sanded sugar Zebra striping technique.

Bommarito will share ideas on how to make small tiny three-dimensional loop bows for petit fours to large 6 loop bows for larger cakes…the loops will vary from 1/8" rolled fondant to flat 2" fondant strips which will enable you to arrange the bows to make a number of different styles of ribbons.

Students will learn how to make and place the streamers artistically to create a realistic satin appearance.
